The following administered the band: Russell Larsen, Band Director; Gary Barr, President; Carol Brown, Secretary; Gary Gainer, Drum Major; Bobby McCoy, Student Conductor; Leon Jaussaud, Manager; and Claudia Brown, Li¬ brarian. The band started the year by playing for the Southeastern Washington Fair, The marching band played for all major parades, football games, mili¬ tary reviews, pep assemblies. Shrine game, trip to Yakima, and a special foot¬ ball, half-time show for Whitman College. The concert band was equally busy with concerts, assemblies, and contests.

Department The 1956-1957 season of the Wa-Hi Choir opened with a performance in October for the Teachers ' Institute In December the choir, directed by Georgia-Mae Gallivan, presented four Christmas programs for community serv¬ ice clubs, and then on the 1 8th gave their annual Christ¬ mas program in the high school auditorium Seventy-five members of the choir sang French and English traditional Christmas carols highlighted by Ben¬ jamin B ntten ' s A Ceremony of Carols ' The orchestra, directed by Clarence Cassell, and three small vocal groups (the Senior Girls ' Ensemble, the Mixed Quartette, and the Sophomore Triple Trio) assisted in the program The Girls ' Chorus, composed of forty-five junior and sophomore girls, sang two numbers at the Christmas pro¬ gram and were also heard at the Veterans ' Hospital dur¬ ing a Christmas-week chapel service.
