The activities of the band were divided into two parts: the marching band and the concert band As a marching band, they played for the centennial celebration at the Fair, several parades, military reviews and the halftime programs for six football games. They also traveled to Pullman and Richland. The concert band played their first concert for an audience of parents in November They then played two other concerts, one with Raphael Mendez as the guest artist As usual the band has had a full schedule of events in performing for community and school functions and providing a pep band for basketball games. The majorettes and flagswingers represent the glamorous side of the band’s activities These girls are on hand whenever the band marches and were a main attraction in the football and basketball half-time pageants The Orchestra, under the direction of Clarence Cassell, has almost complete instrumentation for a symphony with forty-six members signed up for credit. The orchestra plays for all the school plays, operettas, combined concerts, and gives a spring concert of its own 26
