Girls Federation develops character , companionship , and confidence To bring all girl students closer together, to solve problems, and make Wa-Hi a more friendly comfortable place to be, are the purposes of Girls ' Federation, These ideas have been ably carried out under the leadership of the Girls ' Fed. officers. Fed. Activities range from assemblies to frolics to teas to plays to potluck dinners. The year began with the redecoration of the Girls ' Lounge, begun during the ' 51 summer and continued through the year. First on the agenda was the get-acquainted frolic to welcome all Frosh and transfers, co-sponsored by the Federations, September ' s assembly—our first meeting—was a candle light installation ceremony for the new cabinet and our new Girls ' Counselor, Mrs. Tom Esary who has counseled, encouraged,, and understood us throughout the year. In October, Girls ' Fed, began an annual Halloween Party. November: Armlda Alexander wrote the religious theme script for a very successful Thanksgiving Assembly. Also in November a potluck dinner was held for all the new transfer students. December: Janice McGowan put us in the Christmas spirit with her lovely assembly. t p Barrett, f A 0 D e S rbawk3 . B.
