ROX AL BLUE' tudent Government Horns the Wheels Going 'Hound The 1300 students of Wa-Hi chose Jack Aylward to guide them throughout the school year of 1938 and 1939. The other students voted to student-body posts were: Willard Transeth, vice presidentg Joan Martin, secretary, Eugene Cochran, treasurer for the first semester, Kenneth Knowles, treasurer for the second semsterg and Bob Weathers, yell-leader. The Cabinet, selected by the president and ratified by the Legislative Assembly, has willingly worked with the president in directing the student affairs. Appointed to the offices of the Student Cabinet were: Commissioner of Assemblies, Sarah Ellen Loneyg Commis- sioner of Halls, Dave Barclay, Commissioner of Organization, Betty Robisong Commis- sioner of Buildings and Grounds, Harold Piper, Commissioner of Inter-School Relations, Clayton Matthews, Commissioner of Finance, Blaine Burton, Commissioner of Stage, Alvin Huber. The Cabinet has supervised activities of the school at a level fully as high as that of past years. Under the guiding hand of Chief Justice Jacob Gradwohl, the Student Court cleared- up congested hall conditions at Wa-Hi this year. Appointed to the oflices of Justices were: Sol Frank of the Senior class, Elmer Levin and Patty Walters, as the Junior membersg Robert Jacky and Doris McCauley, for the Sophomores, and Eugene Struthers, Freshman. The improvement of conditions at Wa-Hi, through activity of the Student Court, has been notable this year. One of the major innovations is the Fire Department. Stanley Kelso, elected fire chief, by the Legislative Assembly, has charge of the fire drills and has appointed a staff to help him. Members of the fire staff are: Jimmie Wamble, Jim Boldman, Pearl Jackson, Bob Hooper, Irene McNamara, and Eleanor Scheece. U
