Treasurer Head of Council The Girls ' Federation activities started out in full swing last fall with the sponsor¬ ship of the Olvera Street Marionette Show on September 24, In keeping with this good start, the annual Big-and-Little Sister Party marked another success for the new officers. The Southeastern Conference, which was an event of the early fall, was held in Kennewick, and was attended by a large delegation from Wa-Hi. December found the Federation busy honoring the girls and their mothers at a series of delightful teas which featured an interesting art exhibit. For their Christmas project, they collected food and clothing for needy families and turned them over to Chief Goodfellow. Page Fourteen

Taking their idea from the boys ' clubs in other parts of the state, the adviser and officers drafted a constitution and started the Federation. Saining impetus as time went on r the club is now firmly established. Trying to bring the boys in closer contact with the school so they will receive as many advantages as the school has to offer is one of the main objectives of the Fed¬ eration. Another major purpose is aiding boys whose financial circumstances do not allow them to attend school regularly. A committee secures work and furnishes clothing for these boys. A large delegation of boys attended the Older Boys ' Conference held in Pull¬ man in the spring, and brought back Ideas for the improvement of the Federation ' s work in service to the boys of Wa-HL Officers Alan Romlne ... Head of Council Doris May Adams headed the committee that planned the party that welcomed the incoming Freshmen in February. After that several new Ideas were started: the friendship committee has checked on girls absent because of Illness for several days and has sent cards to them, A tutoring group was started to give aid to girls who needed some help in their school work. The big conference of the year Is the Tri-State Girls ' League Conference held in April Pendleton the entertaining group, carried out a clever program called A Kound-Up of Ideals, which was enjoyed by Wa-HI ' s ten delegates. At the semi-annual introduction of eighth graders to our school the girls were responsible for entertaining about one hundred incoming Freshmen girls. Pag-e Fifteen
