The social studies and English departments, form the char- acter of the student, giving him English with which to express himself and government so he will know how his country is run. The com- mercial, home economics, and industrial arts departments prepare the student so that he may take his place in the world as a wage earner and home maker. These departments are vitally important to the development of the student:

The faculty of Walkerton High School are all well trained in their respective fields and have the ability to deal successfully with the students and their problems. Their job is to impress in the minds of the WILMA DUTCHER B.S. , Huntington Collegeg A.M., Ball State Teachers Collegeg Chorus, Latin, Librarian DONALD RAY WEIL B.S., M.S., Indiana State Teachers Collegeg Music students a desire for knowledge and the ability to acquire and maintain that knowl- edge. A well-balanced teaching schedule that provides for proper education in worthy subjects has been devised. The faculty and administration are to be commended for their excellent work. The ability to play a musical instrument and to speak a foreign language fluently are taught by the music and langauge depart- ments. These subjects add culture to our school. To aid the student in learning the vocabulary of a foreign language, games are sometimes played,
