dministration LaFrance E. Terrell - Principal Here we are at the end of the school year--We each should be a year older and a pound wiser. If you have used your time intelligently, then this entire statement is true, however, if you've goofed off most of the year, then you've truly wasted some very precious time that you'll never get back. Each class you have offers much for you to gain if you will only take advantage of it. Each activity you par- ticipate in widens your friends and your chance to be a contributing part of an important social group. School is the same as life--You jump in and participate and be a part of that society or you separate yourself from it and become an outsider looking in. lVlost of us want to be a part of active, involved groups but often because of our shyness, we hold back and wait for others to pull us into the activity. Fortunately for some this does not happen, but for many of you who never are pulled in, each tear it becomes more difficult to force yourself to join. If you want to swim sooner or later you have to jump into the water and get your feet wet--Now's the time! Sorrowfully you leave this grade, and hopefully, next year you'll be advancing to a higher grade. You know, those classes, those activities, and those events are in that higher grade too. Don't allow another year to go by without becoming involved in them--O.K.! T'was a wise old duck who noted that learning in one form or another takes place during our every waking moment. None of us can take complete credit for all of your education and learning because you learn at home, at school, at church, at playg you learn all of the time. One of the most important things for you to be able to do is to recognize the good learning situations and cap- italize on them. The same will be true in high school and in your life after school. You have learned right from wrong, good from bad, and really you know when you're trying and when you're not. If you keep these things in mind and use the good common sense which most of you are blessed with, then most of your life will be good and you will add to, as well as, receive from your society. Thank you for being a part of our society for this year and please know that all of us here wish only the best in life for you--would you make that wish come true? La France E.
