The inTer-club compeTiTion was excepTionally keen and kepT player and specTaT0r conTinually on edge ThroughouT The season as To which club would come ouT on Top. The TirsT Teams Took The Tloor on February 5Th Tor Their TirsT appearance. ln spiTe of The raTher Top-heavy score in Tavor oT The Suns. 23-I6, The play was anyThing buT one- sided. Play was TasT and briIIian+ on boTh sides and very even. excepT ThaT The scinTillaT- ing Sun sharp shooTers scored more oTTen. IT was The same sTory in The second game: The Suns piled up a score QT 3446 for The Dials and ThaT whirlwind Sun Trio oT MaThes, Ely. and BriTTon sTiII led The Dials a merry chase. The Dials' morale was sTill unshaTTered despiTe The TacT ThaT They hardly had a player againsT The Suns: They closed The Third game wiTh a rush and approached Their opponenTs' score closer Than ever wiTh 25 poinTs againsT 30. Thus The Suns ouT- shone The Dials in Three games sTraighT which gave Them a considerable margin. NoThing daunTed, however. The Dials Took The Suns inTo Their camp in The second Team league. The score was close: TirsT The Dial hoop-Throwers nosed ouT The Suns 26-24 and in Their second meeTing balanced The score in Their Tavor by The hairbreadTh Tally of 36-35. ln The TirsT encounTer oT The Third Teams. The Suns slipped one over on The Dials by a score of 23-22. From Then on, however, vicTory was wriTTen in The books Tor The Dials. In Their second maTch They beaT The Suns 34-8 and in The lasT game 40-36. BoTh The second and Third Teams upheld The sTandard seT by The TirsT Teams and played a beauTiTul brand oT baskeTball which Thrilled The Trenzied Sun-Dial rooTers. AT lasT came ThaT long awaiTed day which made Tor many speedy combinaTions and allowed second Torm champs To enTer The lisTs-The lnTerTorm BaskeTball Chal- lenge MeeT. IT glamour meanT anyThing in The baskeTball world, The Prom-TroTTers surely would have won. However, in The Tinals oT This hilarious Round-Robin. The pre- viously menTioned personaliTy sexTeTTe was deTeaTed by The SocieTy Tor PrevenTion oT CruelTy To BaskeTball Players I6-I2. Thus ended a glorious season oT baskeTball. We are graTeTul To all who wenT ouT every aTTernoon Tull oT good sporTmanship and sTrengTh To play The game well.
