Flossie Forgan and Befsy Tener gave a wonderful exhibifion of how nof fo ski, and Ginnie Backus and , . Jean Walfon danced fo greaf applause lOh, fo be gracefulll. Buf perhaps fhe hif of fhe enferfainers was Peggy Whife, a poor Simsbury girl, hunfing madly for a fella. Mifchell and McGraw puf on a clever skif. a fake off on various radio programs. The chorus, which came in many fimes during fhe evening, made ifs firsf appearance af supper wifh a professional iiffer-bug acf. Hanley held us all breafhless as she liferally fied herself info knofs. as Gene puf if. Then while sipping our coffee, we leaned back fo enioy The play enfifled Eighf Bells and All's Well! The curfain opened disclosing one of fhe upper decks of fhe Queen Mary. Jean lJune Hopel, who was a 'rouring dancer, came aboad and when fhe ship sailed sang one of Beffy Fires+one's songs, Off To Europe We Go, wifh a marvelous background made up of fhe chorus. Then. as fhe play progressed, we found fhaf Jean was in love wifh Nick lGinny Backusl, her dancing parfner, who was being wolfed by Brenda. lMardie Monfgomeryl. Jean was walking up on deck when she mef a sailor lLucia Leel. whom she insfanfly liked. She fook him info her confidence and he fold her fhaf fhere was a spy on board. Meanfime. Pinky Holfon, a crazy passenger. wandered in and ouf uffering sfrange remarks which leff us all in sfifches. lf was a very excifing play and ended happily wifh Nick and Jean fogefher again. and Brenda, who furned ouf fo be 'rhe spy, safely ouf of fhe way. Jean and fhe sailor found fhaf fhey were long-losf brofher and sisfer. separafed when fhey were children. Beffy Firesfone. as usual. furned ouf some greaf songs. Among fhese were Blue and A Table For Two Af Leroux. bofh sung by Joan Ralson. and Jusf Me. Jusf You fo which June Hope did iusfice. We all hafed fo have our frip on fhe Queen Mary come fo an end.
