Junior Class History In September of l945,eight freshmen hesitantly ascended the steps of Walford High. Kenneth Arp, Jean Bennett,Wes1ey Bartosh,Mary Lou Broz, Florlne Erger,Janet R1ley,G1en Rhodes and Wynette Mumm were the eight freshmen to be initiated. Our class dwindled to seven when Glen Rhodes moved to Lisbon. Seven pupils entered the front hall for their sophomore year. This year we had the honor of planning the annual pic- nic. Wesley Bartosh was elected pres1dentgKenneth Arp, vice- presidentg and Wynette Mumm, secretary-treasurer. The same seven pupils entered Walford again for their junior year. We had the honor of initiating the Freshmen Class. nThe Great Ben Allahu was our Junior Class Flay. We presented it twice. In the spring we entertained the Senior Class at a banquet. All of us.have participated in sports this year Our class again increased to eight when we were joined by Roland Petersen Janet Riley was elected president, Florine Erger, vice president, Mary Lou Broz,sec retary and Wesley Bartosh, treasurer Jean Bennett left th class in the middle of our junior year Sophomore Class History Five boys stepped into the hall of education in the year of l94o We were initiated by the honored seniors,now on the path to graduation Our class consisted of Wilbert Peshek William Schulte, Merle Snell,Eldon Kadera, and Louis Uthoff We had no class election in our freshmen year Eldon Kadera, Louis Lthoff and Wilbert Peshek were members of the boys basketball team Our class officers are Eldon Kadera,president, Louis Uthoff vice president, William Schulte,secretary and Wilbert Peshek treasurer Eldon.Kadera, William Schulte,and Nilbert Peshek are agaln members of the Walford Blue Devils We gained our first girl in our high scrool career when Jacqueline Petersen joined us in January, Wilmer Sedlacek also joined us for a srort while Fr shmen Class History In September of l947,eleven freshmen appeared in Walford High School After we were properly initiated we elected Palmer Dyal, president, Raymond Brecht, vice president, Kenneth Raim, secretary, and La Verne Chalupsky, treasurer We were joined in the first few weeks of school by Vary Lou Driscoll formerly of Cedar Rapids ' I .1 1 I 0 4 6 . . , v Y .
