The students are trained in wood shop, metal shop, machine shop, and mechani- cal drawing. A new course, auto mechanics, teaches seniors how to disassemble, check and reassemble various parts of the automobile, as well as the theory behind the systems. Music The music department always has a way of attract- ing the dedicated student. Through their efforts and the fine program of instruction, they pursue and mold their talents. As a result, all our musical organizations: the band, the orchestra, and the chorus are top rate organizations. The band has played at pep rallies, foot- ball games, parades, and at the Clifton Band Festival. Members of the chorus have participated in the Bergen County Choral Festival. Mr. Daniel Schwartz M.S. Within certain limits he is free to create as he feels. He can choose from many areas ranging from sketching to pottery, col- lage to weaving. Even after hours you will find many students pursuing a special pro- ject or learning a new technique. New York University 'Color Guard Advisor Girls' Intramurals Physical Education The physical education depart- ment teaches the individual to sup- plement mental strength with phys- ical strength and to abide by rules which can be incorporated into the ways of living. A driver education program that teaches both theory and behind the wheel training is also included in this department. School Nurse The school nurse is a busy and resourceful person. She aids the doc- tor with physical examinations, gives tine tests to freshmen and seniors, and performs the simple necessities such as applying bandages and ad- ministering to gym casualties.
