The administration and faculty strive to develop each student mentally, phys- ically, emotionally, and socially, as well as academically. To meet this challenge, each department is responsible for a certain phase of our development. Various programs are offered to the students in our curriculum. Business Education, College Preparatory, Industrial Arts, and an Enriched program are the four major courses in which a student participates. Along with the required majors, the student is able to select electives from each of these to expand his personal interests. Waldwick High's academic life is only a part of its complete picture. i , . 4, ff: 3 Q1 rife ,J '-gf' , 5 AXIA Xi AJ Although the academic process is stressed, social participation is definitely encouraged. As a member of the North Bergen Interscholastic League, WHS participates in such varsity sports as football, basketball, wrestling, spring and indoor track, cross country and soccer. Intramurals such as basketball, field hockey, gymnastics, volleyball, etc. are an important part of the 2 :45-on activities. Clubs and other organizations are provided for stu- dents who possess an interest in a particular area. Advised by a teacher, language clubs, a math team, athletic organizations plus other activities provide another outlet for the student from his normal learning routine. All of these contribute to the development of a well-rounded student. ' A LAKE WU A A ifl . , . ,, ,,..:.zg... ,,,., , .,. 1 - .f-ef ...em .Pol .. .wit , t, ...K ,, l r. .. While one department educates him, another develops his physical self. Socially he is directed by the Guidance Department. As he leaves at the end of his senior year, the school hopes they have helped to produce an intelligent and capable person ready for a new world. These memories and hopes are short and sweet, however, as they begin to prepare the entering students - for this is a never ending process. C05 1 -an-llllllllll..liii-I f llllllllll jg. The completion of our high school careers is the one achievement we have regretfully left behind only to progress further into our society. To entirely satisfy this challenge, we dedicated ourselves to the presentation of a resume of this, our greatest year. Now that the work on this book is complete, I would like to give my sincerest thanks to those who have worked so diligently. To Carol Green- berg, who was forever lending a helping hand, Jean Willcox, Carol Gneid- ing, Ruth Habermann, and Devon Beals, my section editors who did an effective and timely job not only on their sections but wherever they were needed, and finally to Mr. Conti, our advisor, I extend my warmest and most sincere thanks.
