SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEK: November 30 through Decem- ber 3 was set aside as Spiritual Emphasis Week on our campus. Interesting and enlightening talks were given by Dr. A. E. Hanson, president of the Northern Minnesota District of the E.L.C. It is self-evident that the purpose of these days was to make each person more spiritually minded. gfkgg-2-S E Bi E Q MISSION EMPHASIS WEEK: To Tell to All was the theme of Mission Emphasis Week which was held February 8 through 11. The theme song was 'EO Zion Haste, Thy Mission High Fulfillingf' Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Oakland of the Sudan Miss ion were the main speakers. Mr. Mueller, Mission- ary to the Kurds, and Mr. Carl Otte of the South African Mission gave the highlights of their work- spreading the Gospel to the heathen. 2252

The Board's duties include obtaining speakers and planning committees for all arrangements pertaining to Mission Emphasis Week and Spiritual Emphasis Week. Miss Hemmingson, the Rev. Gilbertson, and the Rev. Quanbeck are its sponsors. Twenty minutes a day the student body and faculty meet together to praise God in song and to meditate on His word. Faculty members, guest speakers, and students lead in devotions throughout the week. '
