UEDIO ATION 4. Dedication To you, our MOTHERS and FATHERS, we dedicate our 1957 annual, for the help you have given us, your understanding assistance, and your un- failing trust. To everyone, we would like to say that we feel this is no ordinary ded- ication, because this is a dedication of all the love and thanks which we could not possibly express in words. No one else has done so much for us as have our Parents. Wefve reached the goal and there's a story behind-- a story of many years of. uhderstanding, guidance, and love on the part of our parents. SIGNED Waldo Senior Class of 1957 The Prophecy of me Waldo senior Classlof 1957 The Iunior Class of 1957 decided to take an airplane cruise in the new B-707, owned and operated by the WALDO TRANS-WORLD AIRLINES. While on our tour, the plane developed engine trouble. .The pilot fthat's mel fearing that the plane would not be able to reach an airport safely, orders the passengers to bail out, one by one. So they prepare to jumpl The first brave soul to jump was Fred Bender. Landing on the USS Forrestal, docked at San Diego, who did he see conferring with a certain Admiral, none other than the well-known Practical Navy Nurse of California, 1-Brit! LELE. How she ever arranged this is beyond us. Say! Jean won out over the Admiral. Saturday night dates are a Must for the sailors now. The next volunteer was Pamela Neville. She drops into Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood to see the World Premier of Around the Snail in Forty Paces . Starring none other than the handsome, dashing. crew-cut, millionaire, HARLEY gag That part in the senior play started Harley on his way to stardom. While taking a deep breath and fastening his parachute nervously, Jerry Berry proceeded from the plane. He landed with as little distrubance as he possibly could for there in the UCLA Stadium Radio Booth he saw KATHLEEN OBORN taking dictation as Tab Hunter announced the UCLA vs. WALDO UNIVERSITY Rose Bowl Game. .Pay attention to your shorthand, Kathy. Taking time to comb her hair and check her nails, Pat Seitter is now ready to advance down- ward. By an amazing coincidence she almost collides with JLNSTRATTON, an up and coming prosperous oil man, riding on his flying Red Horse checking his oil derricks in Texas. . Setting his watch and grasping tight to his binoculars, Lloyd'Myers jumps and unintentionally forgets to open his parachute because he saw through his peeperscope the Hollywood beauty, lane Russell. But by closer viewing he saw it was gorgeous SONDRA HENRY, modeling the latest in sports outfits on the Boardwalk of Atlantic City. Sondra heads her own modeling agency in New York. As lane Fogle falls through space, she lands in, of all places, Fort Knox, Kentucky. By taking advantage of the inattentive guards she sneaks into the U.S. Treasury Vault and finds none other then GENERAL MERRILL MILLER, Treasurer U.S.A. , trying to realize his ambition to be a millionaire at the expense of the taxpayers. Uh! Uh! Put it back, Merrill. After inspecting her parachute very closely Marilyn Pfleiderer is now ready to jump. While floating past the office windows of the Wade Administration Building of Ohio Northern University, she sees the top executive secretary, Q GROLL, taking dictation from Professor Paul Wade. A Do you think you can transcribe those notes, Cindy? After taking several air sick pills , Ronald Hart is prepared to leap. He lands on Sponge Cake Street and is quickly attracted by the sweet smelling aroma of baked goods, made my CAROLYN SCHULTZ, who is really in the dough and rising very fast to the head of the Schultz- Omar Bakeries. There's good hearted Carolyn now passing out free cookies to the children. The next reluctant volunteer is Janet Ullmer, as she floats gracefully down, she lands on mythical Cloud 7. What's this! This is no cloud. It's Smokestack 7 of the most famous Erie Trains in America, the McFarland Streak , and operated by the head engineer and big wheel of the Erie, .Q-QMCFARLAND. Latest record of the Streak includes passengers having today's breakfast in New York and yesterdays dinner in San Francisco. Oh dear! We're having trouble. We have just lost one engine so we muSt hurry. Peverishly, Iohn Walter races to the door and jumps. Hey, Iohn! Your chutel Oh well, it's just make- believe. john lands in a prosperous section of Rubbermat, Manhattan where he is taken by sur- prise when he sees that, abiding by her old motto, Cheaper by the Dozen , -ILIQY AUGENSTEIN is standing by the swimming pool of her 34 room mansion supervising her 12 children at play. After thanking the co-pilot for such a wonderful exciting trip, Marilyn Yake walks to the door and dives into the blue. What's that beautiful silver dome? Why it's the Capitol, and there is the office of the President. Say, he has a blonde secretary who looks like jilfl RAVENCRAFT. It is Janet! It's a good thing Mamie isn't the jealous type. Well everyone is out but me, Ellen Yake. Goodbye dear, faithful plane. We are now descend ing over the stadium of Capitol University. .Chl There's Lx-R-T--13- that famous athlete, ready to catch the pass for a touchdown. Look out for those tacklers, Artl Gosh! He eluded all eleven of them. Touchdown! Score: Capitol -99, Slippery Rock-00. The cruise is over but, you know, there are many things in our lives that are just beginning. Keep your spirits high like the airplane in the skyp but come down to earth to perform those prac- tical every day living tasks. : L. mix, Q , , ' , , , A Q -1 .
