Mr. Paul Stratton Mrs. Lillian Ostrander Every ship needs a representative body to consider problems of interest and importance to all members on board. Student Council has representatives from each cabin of grades 9 through 12. September-When we had our first meeting this year we realized our constitution was not as perfect as it should be and so undertook to revise it. This project was a year long job since we wanted it to be well done. November-A safety program was instituted aboard ship to try to prevent accidents and confusion. Cruisers were requested to vsalk on the right side of the decks not run from one cabin to another and not be too boisterous. Carmen Cascio blind pianist returned to play dur- ing an assembly under our sponsorship. December-Fred Haitman a magician performed during an assembly. Vanita Doolittle will certainly re- member this-it was her birthday and with Haitman s help she mad some birthday candy. Fall-The Boys Hi-Y continued its movement of encouraging more practical knowledge of our govern- ment by sending representatives with a joint Boys -Girls Hi-Y bill to Goshen. The bill provided for the revoca- tion of driving licenses after a driver has reached the age of 60, until a mental and physical examination is taken. A miniature assembly was held and despite the fact that we combined our bill with Kingston and it was passed by a committee, the bill was defeated. The bills that passed were sent to Albany where a state as. sembly of Hi-Y Boys and Girls was held in December. Mr. amesEadie Winter-We held several joint meetings with the Girls' Hi-Y. At one meeting in january we provided a movie with Abbott and Costello as well as several animated cartoons. The girls provided the refreshments for all of us. Spring-We were rather inactive during the Spring but it is a fact that the feeling of brotherhood and friendship will always be remembered by every boy in our organization, for this is the purpose of this na- tional organization. page thirty-seren , 2 Q Q tid ' 31 1, ff' On Front Rou Denault L Wanderlmg L Stemmler E Falkson V Dool1ttle M Wagner R Wagner C Dunkelman M Beger MISS T G1llCSP16 2nd Rau M D1Marzo T Qu1ck L Saehloff J Foley J Campbell D Stephan C Rxchards J Taylor C Kreseloff B Ter w1l11ger L Fa1rch1ld A R1chburg H Brand Srd Rau Slater R Maghone E D1R1enzo P Cowger Denn1son J Beck M Hurd H Bennett W Staempfl1 P Le1s R Zupp G jackson I Fr1edman V D1R1enzo R Roe 1 Blackman .JU Wafer!
