As the Seniors srt on the stage on Commencement night anxiously awaiting their diplomas in these last few mmutes as students rn Walden High their mrnds drift back to their past years and the big events in which they took part On September of 1947 the Senior class chose as their officers Lois Cosman Presr dent Richard Stone Vice President Charlotte Hall Secretary and Eleanor Behrens as Treasurer One of the first activities the class undertook was the Sennor Play Clarence by Booth Tarkmgton 'Ihe cast had the audience in hysterrcs with all of their unusual antics and the plot itself was very amusnnff The play brought back memorres of their freshman mated Christmas Cards During their Freshman year they were divided into 2 home rooms 21 and 22 Presidents were Lynn Whitford in the former and Donald Mentz in the latter Due to heavy schedules the Sophomore year was uneventful They were divided into 2 rooms this year also-31 and 32 Presidents were Raymond Sandrl rn the latter and Robert Kelso rn the former Wzfztef Canzzzal the Senior Prom was a social and Hnancral success This was the first prom financially successful for years Everyone from mules around attended this occasion to sec the beautiful decorations and dance to Ward Harrison s orchestra This takes them back to the Snow Ball Prom of their unror year rn which Charlotte Hall s President Lynn Whrtford Vice President Gloria Zimmer Treasurer and Sadie Pierson as Secretary During that year the unrors made a tidy profit by running the buses to the out of tovsn games and sponsoring a square dance rn the spring The Seniors planned Stunt Nite which was a great hrt wrth about 150 students gn en the opportunity to show their talent The largest number of organizations partrci pa ed this year 15 in all On February 19 1948 the Seniors undertook an activity wh1ch had never been tried IU Walden High School namely Senior Day Each Senior took over some job rn the running, of the school including all faculty administration and custodlan duties They really found out something of what makes the school tick This proved the Seniors tops in leadership and a yery democratic activity betvseen faculty and student bod On May J the Seniors took a trip to New York City vshere they visited the points of Interest and savs Frnnran s Rainbow a box office hit Their last social eyent of the year was the junlor Senior Prcmc held at Bear Moun tam Yes lt has been a grand class and as the Seniors awake from their daydreaming they find that rt IS now trme to receive their diplomas that little piece of paper for which they have xx orked for so long page Je1 enly two '1 'Y .
