homecoming highlights spirited year Mum fUiUSHCHS LHEO, |jAV,r TWm October spun a gossamer thread around scores of Wakelon students, hopeful as Homecoming approached. The annual Bon-Fire was held the night before the Game, the first chapter of the ' 67 Homecoming tradition. The morning of the fourteenth began in zestful excitement as all four classes participated in the final election. The Juniors decorated the platform, the goal posts, press box, and concession stands. The Student Councilers lined up the parade and field formation. All afternoon was consumed with last minute arrangements and car-washings. Half-time activities climaxed the week-long anticipations. After a moment of hushed silence, the decision was announced— Linda Kimball, 1967 Homecoming Queen. 5

the school year of ' 66-67, a joyous time for every fun-loving Wakelon student, the brilliant smiles of the rugged and tough football players as they gaily bounce off a mud stained field after practice; the appearance of two well-known friends of the jet set with words and films for holiday cheer; and the gleeful plea of the sorrowful lion who begs pitifully for an ounce of courage, the experience was a gay one and the memories are now joyful remembrances. 4
