Student eouncil 'l'he Student Council startedits secondyear at llakefield lligh tl1is year. The Presidents of the various organizations made up the Council. Superintendent Callaway was the sponsor. It is the purpose of the Student Council to establish regulations of the number of school parties, to promote good school spirit, to better the pupil-teacher relationship, and to establish students' individual pride in the school. ln addition, the Student Council this year sponsored an all-school dance. We feel this second year of our Student Council has been very successful, and hope that in the future the range of activities of the Student Council will be continually expanded. Chapter is comprised of 54 members. They have been busy working toward an honor chap- ter Award. The chapter held a UNESCO party for the student body in October. A foreign student from lran, attending Wayne State, spoke at the party. At Christmas-time the annual l+'.H.A.-F.I-'.A. party was held. As their community project for this year, the chapter made favors for each holiday for the members of the Nursing llome. The chapter also served at a polio benefit in January. They carried out a uconsumer buying project during the year. Our chapter was represented at the l4'.li.A. workshop in Crete, the Dis- trict Convention in Blair, and at the State Convention in Lincoln, in March.
