Literature, grammar, essays, themes and term papers are all a part of students English experience. English teachers teach both greater understanding of literature and improved skill in composition. The English department headed by Miss Baker, consisting of twenty-eight teachers, offers: English I, II, III, IVg Advanced English III and IVQ and Advanced Compo- sition. READING Improvement of skills in reading speed and comprehension is the purpose of the Reading Department. Headed by Mrs. Minor, the staff teaches remedial reading and an advanced class during study halls and after school for stu- dents who wish to raise reading speed or comprehension. MRS. MINOR Head of Department DISTRIBUTIVE EDUCATION On-the-job training for stu- dents with a. specific vocation in mind, is provided by the Dis- tributive Education depart- ment. Composed of three sec- tions-Distributive Education, Distributive Occupations and Vocational Office Training- the department consists of three teachers and is headed by Mr. Hawthorne.
