Miss Keck heads the fourteen teachers who teach United States and Vir- ginia History, United States and Virginia Govern- ment, World Affairs, Current Events, Economic Geo- graphy and World History. Guidance counsellors, one for each grade level, help guide Wakeheld students successfully through high school. Any student may malce an appointment with a counsellor to discuss both personal and academic prob- lems. For seniors, the guidance counsellor is a means of obtaining information about colleges and scholar- ships. Headed by Mr. Campbell, the Guidance staff is composed of six counsellors. GUIDANCE MR. General Education is the seventh and eighth graders' required preparation for later English, his- tory and government experience. In the ninth grade however, the student may either elect General Educa- tion or courses in English and social studies. Covering two periods, General Education teaches grammar, composition, spelling, history, and geography. This year's General Education staff includes five teachers, headed by Mrs. Whitam.
