After school-clubs, sports and dances Scavenger hunts are funfl' jack Gcrmns and Jimmy Hudson carry the VVakefielcl totem pole. mad rush to lockers and buses. And, if the student calculates correctly and applies his full speed and skill, he is sometimes rewarded with a seat on the homeward hound bus. For many students, however, the school day does not end at 2:45. Since WakeHeld's first year, a com- plex system of activities has been developed in which the student may take part according to his skills and preferences. Activitiw such as clubs and honor socie- ties meet after school. Y-Club meetings, games and dances usually cake place in the evening. And one activity-the Ivioonwatch team-sometimes meets in the middle of the night. There is room for every pref- erence in Wakeneld,s extracurricular program. Thus, since 1953, we, the first complete graduating class have seen and taken part in these changes which illustrate the growth and improvement of the school.
