talk and relaxation end, and the student, who could swear that the teacher set the clock back at least fifteen minutes, mentally pushes the minute hand around to bell time. And then-lunch, at last! The weary student mi- raculously transformed. He bounds out of the class- room and hurries to the cafeteria. In 1953, the cafe- teria was overcrowded and unorganized. Now, the ca- feteria is still crowded but organization and the addi- tion to two new lines have greatly improved the situa- tion. Also, the student may now buy pizza, French Say! We could use your at R.K.O. Tish Montague poses for her senior picture. Lunch time-But who eats? Chaos typifies the daily lunch hour.

a fifteen minute homeroom period every morning, but this year under a new system, the student attends homeroom only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. After morning exercises and announcements, the student settles down to the endless hours of school- worlc until lunch. In 1953, while the building was still under construction, the classes were often interrupted by the sound or steam shovels, sledge hammers, and Hey Joel Pass the nails -CRASH! Too, the stu- dent often had to adjust to unfinished classrooms and inadequate facilities. But now, the morning passes un- interrupted save by an occasional fire alarm or air raid drill. Finally, the last period before lunch nears its idda - Female plus phone equals endless hours Glen Alley waits for Janice Howdershell to finish using the phone. Quiet? Wlvatls that? Wakefield's library offers a rare moment of quiet tn studying students.
