Af fhe commencemenf of each school day, fhe sfudenfs of Wakefield fake fime ouf fo reaffirm fheir faifh in God: fhe Lord's Prayer, a Bible recifafion, or perhaps a momenf of silenf devofion have become mosf necessary funcfions in our fension filled world. With morning devofions complefed, fhe sfudenfs leave homeroom for fheir respecfive classes. The courses offered af Wakefield are designed fo prepare each sfudenf for whafever posf-graduafion acfivify he or she plans fo enfer. The academic program, which encompasses a wide hosi of sfudies, English, mafh, science, and foreign languages, fo name a few, provides fhe sfudenf wifh fhe knowledge necessary fo confinue his or her educafion in college. However, recognizing fhe needs of fhe individual, our adminisfra- fion has developed, as well as an academic program, a vocafional one. Under fhis plan some sfudenfs are given fhe opporfunify fo become acquainfed wifh commercial and manual skills and frades, fhus securing a wide vocafional background. All of fhe programs offered af Wakefield High School assisf fhe sfudenfs in planning for fheir fufure fraining and vocafions. The lunch period is no+, however, lhe only inferlude in fhe school day.
