Not only has she been our class advisor for the past 4 years, but also our good friend. Throughout our high school years, we have come to know Miss Smith as an understanding, friendly, and very generous individual. She has guided us in everything from class activities to math problems. Without all her help, our proms and other functions would never have been as successful as they were. She is a special type of person who is not only known as a teacher but as also a friend. The class of 1988 would also like to wish her the best of luck in her fu- ture life as Mrs. McDeed. SPECIAL RECGGNITION Mr. Kevin Kilfoyle A thanks to you is well deserved. The students of the class of 1988 are proud and honored to have been able to share our high school years with such a caring and understanding man. When one was feeling down and left out you were always there to pick him up and send him on his way with a laugh and smile. Your superior teaching and guidance has given students the motivation to succeed in whatever they choose to do after high school. There will always be a special spot in the hearts of your students. Mr. Kilfoyle, thank you for always being there when we needed you. 1 6 Mr. Joseph Sullivan To the one who seldom gets thanked-- Mr. Sullivan, the class of 88 would like to thank you for guiding us through our high school years, trying to keep us out of trouble and in some sort of line. Your understanding ways have helped us through some of the bad times. You have also supported us through the good times. As freshmen, we were in- timidated by the mere sight of you, how- ever, over the years you have become a friend. Thank you. We will never forget you. SPECIAL RECCDG ITIG Mr. Scott Lang We the class of 1988 would like to thank you, Mr. Lang for being the man you are. You were always there providing an exciting classroom atmosphere and a warm smile. You were the reason for many students love of English. Your classes were refreshingly different and slightly off the wall. For those who were not in your classes, you were a friendly face in the hall, and the teacher everyone loved. Although one of your favorite sayings was Do you think I care? , we knew you always did by the way you acted in your classes. Your casual classroom attitude made learn- ing not only more interesting, but fun also. Thank you, Scooter, for being you. The fill DBI: n-1:53 Y. Mr. Ron Cromwell The class of 1988 would like to say thank you for being such an outstanding teacher. The students of Wakefield High School recog- nize your dedication in making English fun as well as knowledgable. Your sense of humor and unique personality provided students with the incentive and desire to return to your class each day with a positive attitude to learn. We will always remember your sneaky but caring smile that brightened each 42 minute English block. Thanks Croms! 7 A '-s.....f'7 You were faced with a battle that many of us may never be faced With, but you had the courage to stand up and Hght and Win more than once. No matter What, you were always there with a smile on your face. Willing to help. Your desire to be part of the crowd always paid off. You were a believer: if there was a Way, you would tind it. Whether it was on the play- ground as a kid, in the drama club, or through your avid interests in sports. you were an important part of our crowd. There were things you could not do. but that did not shatter your interests. We can all learn a valuable lesson from the life you led. You let nothing stand in your Way. n J. Green, L. Andruchow JQHN CUDQAN 1969-1984 f'N 12' -7 Throughout our lives, there is always someone who touches us in a special way. You were a special Friend to more people than you knew. Your radiant smile and sparkling personality brought joy to us all. Because of the love we have for you, the pain and sorrow are still within us. The loss that we all feel can not be described with words. Tears fall from our eyes whenever we think of you, remembering all of the good times we had shared together, times we will never forget. We don't think of you as being gone, just away For a while, in a better place. and someday. when the time is right, we will all be together again. 8. As you leave the high school years, you can look back on a concentrated period in your lives that produced more change, physiological, intellectual, than you will ever experience again in such a short span of years. You entered ninth grade as children and leave as young adults. We trust that your future educational and vocational decisions will be excellent ones for you - the kind you can enjoy and find self fulfillment in doing. We know that in the years ahead your sense of trust, loyalty, love, value, and critical abilities will grow and be nurtured by your experiences. We believe that your relationships with others, peers - family - friends, will be enhanced and enriched by your involvement in life. We challenge you to always have a dream, to work hard, and to help others less fortunate. Learn to share your life for no reward and be as good as your word. To the Class of 1988 we wish you good health, good works and good fortune! r I I x -.115 - I ,ff L KW, '2Qaj7vrcvPL4fff52K L-' kyb irc-, Lf Nuwv 4z ,,,-un' ' Dracle Staff 88 QL Editor-in-chief: . Many students are also working to pay for their own cars, and to help pay for their own col- lege education. Many familiar faces can be seen at McDonalds, Toodys, Green- view Manor, and CVS. These kids try to divide their time up between work, school, and sometimes even another sport or activity. For many students it is not only the weekly paycheck, but the satisfaction of holding a job and making their own money, that makes their part- time job more rewarding. orking Hurd For The Money ,J P 1 4. ig- I. There are as many styles as there are personalities. The styles range from ripped jeans and homemade tie dyes, to Paris fashions made with metalic material. There are many styles in between including preppy, yuppy, punk, new wave, the girl-next-door, casual, contemporary, and liberal. New personal styles are cre- ated daily as people pick up styles, and then combine them with others. Freshman year we all scoffed at other people's styles, but now, in our senior year, we have all come to accept each other's clothes as a form of personal expression. 41 1' , Q X I fs-'IW' ',-1 41 u '- v s-'4 ' Q ' I ff 4 'E , Q.. Heading in all different directions they begin to disperse into their own worlds. Several head toward the field house wondering where they will get their energy to practice. Several others run to catch the bus or to get their car, knowing that they have the responsibility to make it to their jobs on time. Although school is officially over, many students stay inside the building for various activities that they signed up for. Some are in the band room warming up for practice, others are in the lecture hall taking Driver's Ed with Mrs. DJ, and still more are in the Oracle room attempting to make the year- book the best ever. However, no matter what is done after school, one will always see Wakefield High students busy doing something. ., I J 1 4' 1 fy, H 'Sc- R, tv- ! fi . 4, ,EQ L ' U-3: 5? ' jztffi .. l .jffsiq fy. We have shared humanity, We have loved, We have doubted, we have anguished, have celebrated, have grown. We We have laid bare our souls We risking all and gaining everything. We have transcended our meager existance To a plane far nobler, far more wondrous. We have tilted windmills, We have reached for the stars. We have sung together, A new and glorious songg So powerful, so overwhelming So inexplicably heartfelt that wherever we go We will carry with us a wonder, a joy, A smile that reaches the ends of the May we be grateful for this moment Of fulfillment, of unconditional love, Of spiritual peace And impart this sacred memory to our children, and our children's children For only by doing so May we fragile mortals Survive an all too fragile world. If about U3 of your student body persuades their parents to get a particular car . . . the total amount would be . . . 3,300,000.00 EXPENDITURES For a 1000-student co-ed high school tTotaIJ 56,718,000.00 The above information is evidence that high school students are important consumers to community business- es. If these facts are hard to believe, you may want to verify the study by taking your own survey. Your survey can be an excellent way to convince local merchants that students are worthy of their advertising attention. The amount of money students pump into their community truly is incredible!
