ELIZABETH UPHAM DEAN OF GIRLS Principal ' s Message This is the age of instant communication and crisis where incidents in various parts of the globe are relayed immediately; where local and national problems lead overnight to public speculation and confusion; where the volume of technological data threatens to overwhelm and dehumanize ' us all. How to cope with a world where people feel helpless and bewildered is a prime challenge for all young people. My message is simple. Your goal should be to share a common conviction that what you do as a person does count in this world; that a decision to accentuate those qualities most human in all of us is important; that problems are not even identified let alone solved without constant effort.
