We Met Our Faculty Family Opening the tattered pages of our scrapbook, we come to a vital part of our high school memories, the section devoted to the Faculty Family. Here is a fatherly portrait of now-retired Headmaster Kinder welcoming confused freshmen to Hfakefield High School that first September day of school. Seated behind him is Principal Gerard G. Barry, who, after acting as our disciplinarian for three years, stepped into Mr. Kinder's shoes our senior year. IVith their administrative leadership and patience, both men have helped to make a success of our high school careers. On the next page is a crumpled hour slip, a token of remembrance from kindly Mr. Colucci, the new submaster. Oh yes, a special place in the scrapbook has been reserved for Superin- tendent john B. Hendershot, our genial educator. Near his portrait is a snapshot of Miss Upham supervising an Inter Nos meeting. iVhat girl could forget Inter Nos Freshman Day? Turning the page, we come to a photograph of the guidance directors, Mr. Heavens, and Mr. Dwyer, in conference with a hopeful college candidate. Remember the junior Tests -what percentile were you in? The smiling duo below them is the office crew, Mrs. Pyburn and Mrs. Cook . . . XVhere were you F block Thursday? XVl1at an effective shot of our kindly matron, Mrs. Allen, with her ever-faith- ful Fantasia, who followed her through the corridors at all hours of the day! Indispensable to the high school's appearance and jammed lockers were the custodians. Mr. Conway, Mr. Lally, Mr. l.eathers, and Mr. Sar- della. Remember when these were familiar everyday sights? It seems like yesterday! Lets scan these pages of the teaching staff. So many memories come back! Movies of gay Paris with Miss Cowing . . . Miss Hiatt hunting for her popular Snorkel shorthand pen which all the Gregg writers loved to borrow . . . Mr. Alley explaining pelagic sealing. . . Girls who graduate from Mr. Ceddia's driving classes do not go over curbs. . . .Coach Kirk, a great inspiration to the hockey team . . . Mr. Callagy allowing for the thick- ness of the chalk . . . Miss Caswell's prize composition boners . . . Don't move Mr. Murray's chairs. Mr. Antunes' new ties. . . Mr. Dower quoting Babson. All these items recall the happy hours we spent in acquiring our education. XVhen we think of our four memorable years at YVakefield Memorial High School, our thoughts will be always of the people who have guided us through studies, after-school activities, detention hours, book reports, poor work slips, and graduation exercises - Our Faculty Family.
