MM lifiriiTi .,y. ; vV w v « Presented by the Senior Class foreword The best of a book is not the thought which it contains, but the thought which it suggests; just as the charm of music dwells not in the tones but in the echoes of our hearts. Mr. Kronsich has gone out of his way and given up much of his time to help the young people of Wakefield. May we say, in this small way, thank you for all you have done for us. There is no friend like an old friend Who has shared our morning days, No greeting like his welcome, No homage like his praise. Oliver Wendell Holmes 3 m Memory of Df- Zressel On April 23, 1957, Dr. H. A. Tressel died. He served as school physician to the students for more than 20 years. He also served on the school board. The Community and students deeply miss his devoted services. Dr. Tressel was devoted to his duties, his friends, giving a helping hand to whoever needed his services. Dr. Tressel really lived. If we, as Dr. Tressel did, can hold the treasure of memory untarnished, carry the glow of morning through the long day, despite its clouds, keep a mind clear and unafraid, doing the work appointed without haste and without confusion, live simply with the grace to forgive and humility to be forgiven, responsive, expectant, looking forward, and above all keep faith with life, enjoying the beautiful things God has given and the hand of man has made - we, too, may really live!” Quotation by Joseph Fort Newton 4 A. JAMES GILBERT President CHARLES VALESANO Member ELI MUSTAPAA Secretary Board of Education THEODORE WASIELEWSKI Member LEMPI SAARI Treasurer ROBERT BURNS School Attorney CARLE. KLEIMOLA Graduation from high school is one of the points at which an individual pauses to chart his future course of action. We all have ambitions of creating a favorable impression. It is worth pondering over the words of Swetchine: There is a transcendent power in example. We reform others unconsciously, when we walk uprightly. HARRY B. SUTTER Our schools are the expression of the American tradition of free schools for free people. Their effectiveness, now and in the future, depends upon how well we translate their basic purposes into reality for all youth. Uthrotars Uthrotor were chosen from members of the junior and senior classes who have shown leadership, scholarship, sportsmanship, and dependability. The boys were selected by the Uthrotor committee, whose members are school associates. Every month one of these boys was introduced to the Rotory members by the Uthrotor of the previous month. They attended Rotory meetings and learned the functions of the club. This year is the anniversary of the Uthrotor movement which was started by Mr. Robert Burns. One of the annual activities of the Uthrotors was the banquet held on December 23, 1957. It was attended by forty-nine Uthrotors. Ws efSeld Public Library First row: R. Schiltz, J. Rydeski, R.
