Frederlckson, Abe Mathews, Victor Lepisto, Trustee Trustee President Purchasing Agent Secretary Treasurer The Schools of Wakefield Township The School District, Township of Wakefield, Michigan comprises the schools of Wakefield Township as well as the schools located within the City of Wakefield. At present the schools of this school district are organized on the Kindergarten-Si.x-Two-Four Plan. Beginning with the School Year 1926-27, however, the plan of organization will he changed to the Kindergarten-Six-Six Plan in accordance with the recommendations of the State Department of Education and the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. A one year kindergarten course will be available to the children of each of the several communities in Wakefield Township anil the City of Wakefield where there are enough children to warrent the establishing of such a school. In each of these communities there is located a six year elementary school. Upon completion of the courses of study of the elementary school, pupils enter the Seventh Grade of the Wakefield Township High School where, during the six years devoted to secondary education, they may take in addition to the so-called academic courses such as English, mathematics, history, geography, science, etc., courses in industrial arts, nome economics, commercial work, art, physical education and music. The Wakefield Township High School is accredited by the University of Michigan, bv the State Department of Education and by the North Central Association. A graduate of a school so accredited may enter higher institutions of learning without examination provided that the studies selected meet the requirements of the college or university which the pupil expects to enter.
