Class Hlstory 'He1lo, Mary! 'Well, if lt 1an't Mrs Horner How are you Roberta? And Leo and the twin boys? All well, I hope Oh, yes We are all well and happy And how are you getting along with your beauth parlor workf' I just love the work It is so handy to run a home and have your work right there Yes, I remember that's what you said in high school It would be handy That brings back old memories How I would kike to see all of the kids again Wouldn't you?' 'Yea, Mary, I would Remember when we were freshman? Thirteen, an unlucky number we said What a green bunch we were The majority of us were farm kids from country schools and scared to death but not one of us would admit it I remember freshman initiation The senior class of 'Sl put a lot of work into that Remember the jail outfits we had to wear and the night we went up and whitewashed the 'W' on the bluff I will never forget our freshman skating party Everyone was supposed to invite a guest and as there were nine girls in our class there was quite a little discussion before each girl could decide which boy to invite Silly but didn't we have fun? Our sophmore year was quite uneventful if I remember at all correctly W had another skating party but the big event of the year was the High School Carnival That was a thrill We had Earl Dornberger on the 'Bn team squad in basketball B t we lost one of our members reducing our number to twelve Loren Luthi's parents moved to Clay Center and he entered the high school there Cur Junior year was really a busy one Our comedy play LET ME GROW UP' took a good deal of our time and our time must have been put to good advantage because the crowd enjoyed it We enjoyed the profits for sure Our Junior Senior Banquet, 'Moonlight and Roses , was a lot of work but it was truly lovely and we enjoyed it to the utmost and hope the seniors did too We were quite well represented that year Gary and Bob were both members of the 'B' squad basketball team and Gary went out for football Bob, Sandra, Nelva and you represented us in Forensic that year I remember how thrilled you were when you went to state that year with your reading, Mary Sandra, Margaret and Nelva represented un in Music Festivals that year and Sandra was a cheerleader For a small class we really got around Our class was made even smaller that year by Earl Dornbergers decision to go to Milford High School This lowered our number to eleven What we d1dn't have in quantity though, we had in quality Oh yes, that year we lost our beloved Mr Mac But even though he was gone we never did forget him We had to start our senior year with out him And that came so soon We were senior and practically our of us cried at Com encement But we did have a cute bunch of kids and very co operative patiently for our senior pictures and then ourselves we weren't as good looking as we school ready to be adults How some of fun initiating the freshman They were if I remember correctly We waited when we got them we had to admit to though Remember what a time we had with our play, 'B COULDN'T MARRY FIVET' We had to look all over to find a play with eleven characters in it. We finally settled for ten and wrote in a part But we were bound and determined that nobody was going to be left out. It was one of the most unusual plays given at Wakefield Then our big sneak to the Ozarks. How we surprised everyone and what fun we had We thank the juniors also for the lovely banquet they gave us which we repaid by taking them to a chicken dinner at Cohen's Chicken House in Junction C1 The senior had a finger in every pie that year. Gary was out for trac and football He was the only boy representing the senior class in these sports and he was football captain Bob our only other boy was the dark haired Romeo for our Senior play Donna, Sandra, Gary and Nelva represented us at Forensic. This year Sandra took her reading to State. Sandra, Margaret, and Helva represented us at Music Festival Rosemary was our worker and due to Rosemary and Margaret we had an annual Betty was our artist Shirley and Roberta represented us on the tumbling team. Cheerleaders were Mary, Sandra, and lelva, t eur year was ended by Baccalaurate, Class light, and then tearful Commence Ibn e 'And you Roberta, were our peacemaker and little homemaker You got along with everyone I could never understand how you did it ' 'Makes you feel rather sad doean't it, Mary? Goodness, I almost wrote a class history right here. I must hurry home now Maybe we'l1 all meet at the Alumni Banauet this voir, ll e ll e e ll . e ll a e n . e .n W ll e e e e e e e e ' 0 A 0 0 0 e 8 e e e l e ll e .1 ' ' e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e a e ' e e e e e ri. e . - o e e e e e e e
