His sense of humor and accentuation of the positive make him appreciated by both his patients and his students. Those who have been fortunate enough to work with him have benefited from his energetic and organized approach to the practice of medicine. The Class of 1977 is proud to give him this citation for teaching excellence. The Class of 1977 has had the benefit of Dr. Skinner's teaching excellence since our basic science years. He guided us in the acquisition of fundamental knowledge, then refreshed and reinforced us in our clinical years. He has always inspired us to be thinking physicians. His continued efforts to upgrade medical education at Bowman Gray make him an excellent choice for this teaching award.

He has warned us of the ease of cookbook medicine and inspired each of us to understand the medicine we practice. Throughout our educational process he has reminded us not to lose our personal identity. His door has always been open to us. Dr. Skinner is dedicated to perfecting the education of physicians. lt is in recognition of his efforts that we dedicate this yearbook to him.
