- nu, - 1-new Y , - '7-- CLASS HIS'IORYe One bright morning in the fall of 1941 when the sky seemed perfect for flying, we started out on our four year flight towards our destination, graduation. The pihot of our green airplane was Wendell Eby with Junior Horn as co-pilot. Our navigator, Phyllis Weaver kept record of our journey, assisted by Nilah Penney who kept track of the expenses. There were fifty-i one passengers aboard. Miss Yoder and Mr. Smith accompanied us on our I first year of flight. f Due to our Biology course we were forced down at Chicago and vis the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and the Brookfield Zoo. i itedy Z This year we We continued on our w a semi-truck ride and the enjoyed. One other was a Sadie Hawkins Day party which we of our flight we decided to have light blue airplane. Mr. Yost and Mr. Bowers accompanied us this year. we were grounded by Mt. Latin and Mt. Geometry and initiated the fresh ies with a party. We also had two other parties on our way. Another summer passed and forty-eight passengers continued on through the clouds as Juniors. We had as Pilotn-Wendell Eby, Co-pilot-Norma Mad- lem, Navigator-Norma Letherman, assisted by Marilyn Moyer. Mr. Bowers stayed with us for the rem ainder of our journey. We had trouble with our engine and landed to have it repaired. While we were grounded we had time for our extra activities. The pkny 'That Crazy Smith Familyn was presented, We were allowed two parties as usual and the Seniors gave us a farewell party. Our big night was the Junior- Senior banquet which was held at the LaSalle Hotel and thus we came to the end of our year's course. we took off in September 1944. Our crew proved themselves efficient so we re-elected them. We also have thirty-six other passengers aboard. During the summer we were saddened deeply by the death of one of our passengers, Richard Lantz. we are drawing near our destination and about to complete the final year of our flight. This year we gave the cd many difficulties in like kidsc We had three stops to we entertained the Juniors ll ll play, The Green Ghost . Although we encounter- Chemistry, we took a day of fun to dress and act refuel our social life with parties,one in which l On April 6 the Seniors were given a banquet by the Juniors at the La- Salle Hotel.
