f li DEDICATION Morrison R. Waite High is able to celebrate its Golden Anni- versary this year H9645 because of the firm foundation laid by C. M. Nordolf and associates, and the instructional founda- tion laid by those teachers on the first faculties. A structure, material or spiritual, is as strong and enduring as its founda- tion. Thus, without either the firmness of the architectural foun- dation or the soundness of the instructional foundation, Morri- son R. Waite High would have been a structure built upon the sands. A structure that would have weakened and eroded with time. But because the firm C. M. Nordolf, architects, was dedicated to the principle of sound structural planning, the building today remains a beautiful architectural edifice, admired by those in attendance, cherished by those who have graduated therefrom, and esteemed by those citizens neighboring it. Now, too, to those dedicated teachers of the Faculty of Waite High we here pay TRIBUTE. We know it was their torch of dedi- cation, held high, that lighted dark footpaths to purposeful lives and useful citizenship. Accordingly, to their patience, kind- ness, unselfishness, steadfastness, understanding, and courage, we, their followers, pay HONOR. We, who follow in their footsteps are poignantly aware of our deep responsibi.l-ity not to let their torch be dimmed nor fall into the dust. We realize that they too, must have felt at times, that certain waste of talent, but because of their dedication and their courage, they stayed on-knowing the need. These, our teachers, were brilliantly aware that not all of us can do the same things, that not all of us are adapted to the same type and quality of work, and that not all of us are charged with the same duties. Without this strong influence and knowledge, Waite High would not today claim so many skilled and professional men and women, as our Alumni Roster proves. Thus, it is with humility that we followers seek and strive to carry the torch handed to us in our olympic race for truth, by those who had the courage, and strength, and the stature of those, the perfect men, the Faculty of Waite High, who ran before us. Firm upon this foundation, lighted on our way by this gleam- ing torch, we, the followers, sing always in our hearts, hear ever in our ears, Loyal, Loyal to old Waite High . . . We will ever bel Contributed by Miss M. Arian Larkin
