Highlights of the cruise for the Operations Officer came on both the personal and professional fronts. On the personal front, his wife Jo gave birth to Julie Kathrine McMurtrie on July 31. On the professional front, LT McMurtrie became LCDR McMur- trie during the cruise. Two major op- erations took up a great deal of time. The first was Exercise Seawind with the Egyptians.
