EXECUTIVE OFFICER H.S. LEWIS Born in 1934 in Holbrook, New Hampshire, Commander Harold LEWIS C D R U S N graduated from the Naval Academy in 1956. Reporting to his first duty T I I I station, the USS TOLEDO ICA-1331, Commander LEWIS assumed duty as Radio Officer. After attending the first Talos Course at Dam Neck, Virginia, he reported as First Lieutenant aboard the USS NORTHAMPTON ICLC-11. In 1960 Commander LEWIS entered submarine school at New London, Connecticut. Upon completion of the course of study at New London, he reported to the SEA LEOPARD ISS-4831 where he served consecutive tours of duty as communications officer, engineering officer, operations officer and weapons officer. After attending Polaris School at Dam Neck, Commander LEWIS reported aboard the USS ROBERT E. LEE ISSBN-6011 as weapons officer. Completing a tour in Naples as a member of the staff of CTF 64, Commander LEWIS was assigned duty as executive officer of the USS JALLAO ISS-3681. After a tour of duty as a member of the executive officer of WAINWRIGHT. I l staff of COMCRUDESGRU EIGHT, Commander LEWIS reported as

In 1957 he was assigned to the Naval Reactors Office at Kno S Laboratory, Schenectady, New York. - Following consecutive tours as Damage Control Assistant on the USS CONSTELLATION ICV-641 and as Executive Officeqqg? BARTON IDD-7221 Captain ACKERMAN received his Masters Degree in Management at Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute In Am? During the Vietnam War he served as Engineering Officer, USS RANGER ICVA-611 and commanded USS GURKE IDD-7831. H of attending the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in 1970, he was assigned a Current Operations Officer on the sta ved Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet. Prior to assignment as Commanding Officer of WAINWRIGHT, CGPTGIO ACKERMAN Ser as Deputy Director, Surface Warfare Division in the office of the Chief of Naval Operations. . . - the NUVY Captain ACKERMAN has been awarded two bronze star metals with combat V, the Meritorious Service Medal, Commendati on Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Naval Medal and the Korean and Vietnam Service Medals. He is married to the former Nancy Louise Smith of Troy, New York and they have a son, Steven.
