Pmcipal ' s Message The educational tree with its many component parts; Trunk-Student Body, Limbs-Classes, Leaves -Students , Flowers-Activities; each representative of a particular segment of the school ' s total program, is anchored by its roots, the administration and the faculty. The tree, to grow and be productive, must be firmly established and must receive nourish- ment and stimulation from its roots. In administering this school, we have tried to do just that: to establish a strong, solid base for the tree to grow and to withstand the occasional adversities through sound organization and strong discipline; to provide educational nutrients through a competent and concerned faculty and carefully selected instructional materials; to promote stimulation by maintaining an edu- cational climate that encourages ideas and inquiries. Upon these foundations the educational tree at Waimea High has flourished and this 1965- ' 66 edition of the Ka Menehune reflects the many facts of this growth. Sincerely, Mr. Y. Kojima Principal
