Outstanding GAA girl: Advisor: Leilani Fong Miss Barbara Bidwell This year the Girls'Athletic Association is advised by Miss Barbara Bidwell, girls physical education director. The pur- pose of this association is to promote health, to create a spirit of good sportsmanship, and to stimulate interest in athletics among the girls of Waimea High School. Among the popular sports this year were prisonball, basketball, baseball, volleyball, archery, and tennis. The girls' physical education classes and the upper classwomen finished the prisonball tournament with the third period class on top with five games won of the six played. In a three-way tie for second place, the period two class emerged with four wins out of the six games played, and the first period class in last place with no wins. All innamural competition took place during special periods, The selection for the outstanding senior girl with the highest record of points earned during her four years of G. A,A, participation went to Leilani Fong. 85
