FOOTBALL Come on gang!! One, two, three, four, one, two ----- shouted Captain Yoshiaki Matsuda as he opened the football season for the members of the Waimea High and Elementary School Gridiron squad with a set of calisthenical drills, with a turnout of some fifty boys on that first day of practice in late August, Coach Richard Doi started with building his first football team as head mentor of the Waimea Menehunes. His hopes of retaining the K. I. F. Championship were placed in such stars as: Captain Matsuda, Castle Naumu, Victor Yokoyama, Howard Hamasaki, Stanley Kua, George Nohara, Albert Oshiro and Fredrick Nagata,
