Freshmen Tryout for Cheerleading The 1984-85 Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Wrestling cheerleaders were chosen in a different manner this year. UNO yell leaders and grade school teachers voted on the cheerleaders instead of the traditional way. Freshman girls were also eligible to try out for cheerleading. Music To Our Ears Band Rates Superior At Districts The Wahoo Warrior Band accomplished some very impressive things this year. The band gained fifteen more members than last year, and the band played better and better each time. The marching band received excellent ratings at the Malcolm and Pershing contests. The Varsity Band received a superior rating at district music and the Stage Band received an excellent. All solos and small ensembles received superiors or excel-lents. 30 There were approximately twenty letters awarded in band, and two special awards were given. Carolyn Fujan received the Outstanding Senior Musician Award, and John Kunkle received the Outstanding Senior Leadership Award. The band accomplished much and was pleased with its members.
