Clubs Involve Most Wahoo Students W-Club - The W-Club accomplished many of their usual activities, such as preparing the Sports Banquet, raising funds and hosting the W-Club wrestling tournament. This year the W-Club again added to sport plaques to recognize athletes and their achievements. W-Club sold jackets and shirts to raise money. Physics Team - The physics team went to Tekamah-Herman for Physics Day. Tom Kunkle and Jared Ketner placed seventh and the team of Lisa Hoffman, Carolyn Fujan, Chris Lehr and Peter Quiaoit placed eighth. Art Club - The Art Club had many activities this year. In the fall they sponsored the car bash. They also raffled off two oil paintings and silk screened shirts. Art Club members went to Kansas City for a day. Paul Fell (cartoonist) and, Lila Rees (oil painter) were guest artists in the classroom. Student Council - Student Council sponsored many of their usual activities. Student Council sponsored the Halloween dress-up day, Christmas activities, Sadie Hawkins dance and sold suckers on Valentine's Day and Easter. They also gave a plaque to retiring superintendent Willard Hunzeker. FCA - The Fellowship of Christian Athletes had a meeting every other Sunday. Some of their guest speakers were Kim Stevens from Lincoln Southeast who is all-state track and cross country, Doctor Steve Carvith who is a Lincoln heart surgeon and the state FCA director. The favorite activity was nerd volleyball. FCA members had a picnic and attended a banquet in Lincoln where Steve Largant, a pro football player for the Seattle Seahawks. talked. FBLA - The FBLA'ers were kept very busy this year. They sold popcorn at home football games, M M's and Christmas items. They also sponsored a pizza party, Christmas potluck, a final banquet and helped FCA sponsor the Valentine's Day dance. They attended business competitions at North Bend and Midland College. They sent nine members to state competition. FHA - The FHA sponsored many activities for their members. They had a pizza party, Christmas party and a spring banquet. They sold cookbooks and balloons for the elderly on Valentine's Day. They attended districts at Fort Calhoun and sent their officers to state. They also sponsored a lock-in in the school. Spanish Club - The Spanish Club had a Christmas party and a pinata party for their members.
