FHA and FBLA Active in FHA, in its second year of existence, has been very active. In the beginning of the year, to welcome new members, the organization held a treasure hunt in the city park. To make money, FHA sold pocket calendars, held a grocery raffle, and joined with FBLA and held a Valentine's dance. For Christmas the FHA had a party and invited the members' parents and decorated cookies for them. The members also sponsored the can food project for the needy and gave cookies to the Blood Mobile. During parent-teacher conferences the FHA babysat for the parent's children. At the end of the year the newly elected officers attended state in Lincoln. | Student Council Tries New Activities Along with the traditional projects such as sponsoring the Sadie Hawkins dance, a Halloween dress-up day, and making flowers for Valentine's Day, the Student Council this year also tried some new things. One of the new projects was a Pride poster contest. This was designed to help boost school spirit, not only by making a poster, but also by seeing the posters displayed around the school. Another new thing was to show a movie on Christmas instead of having a game day. The movie Victory was shown. On Halloween and Christmas, all the Student Council members dressed up in costumes and went down to the elementary school to pass out treats. On Christmas, they also showed cartoons to the students. The Student Council also sponsored volleyball intramurals and discussed plans for displaying the senior boards and plaques that recognize achievement in academics and sports. Officers for the 1983-84 Student Council were: President - Jennie Evers, Vice-President - Lisa Dvorak, and Secretary - Tori Dillow. Sponsor was Dick Tingelhoff.

For Christmas they made and distributed Christmas cards to the residents of Haven House and the Saunders County Care Center. The club had four other activities.
