Journalism Makes Strides in Creating Yearbook The annual staff made some changes this year in the traditional annual. They used a colored picture of a '56 T-Bird as a symbol of our yearbook and Movin' On was chosen as the annual's theme. The group visited a yearbook seminar in Omaha sponsored by Wals-worth Publishing Company. Another highlight this year was the visitation to the class by Larry Faust, a writer for the Omaha World-Herald. Journalism I did its usual production of the school newspaper. In addition, they put together a magazine with original pictures and stories written by the students. The newspaper staff tried to improve our school by creating the idea of a winter formal dance. They also won a poster contest designed to uplift school spirit. Pictures for photography layouts were taken at the Omaha Zoo and the State Capitol instead of the usual places. The portrait assignments had better and larger negatives because of the use of a large negative camera. Computers did wonders with the typing and printing of each story. Students were able to correct errors more easily, save stories for later reference, and insert or delete complete sentences and paragraphs.
