Small Annual Staff Has Hectic Year Due to a small staff, only three members the first semester, the 1982 annual staff had a very busy year. A lot of time was spent taking pictures, typing stories and drawing layouts. The 1982 Chieftain staff consisted of 20 students. They put out several outstanding papers during the year. They also thought of many interesting and funny stories such as food slapping and some bizzare New Year's resolutions. Much of the newspaper staff's work was done in cooperation with the Wahoo Newspaper Office. Advisor Doug Watts helped provide some much needed guidance. 6

Clubs Have Interesting, Varied Activities The Spanish Club members held a Christmas party at which they broke their annual pinata. They also planned a field trip to Omaha to dine at Michels for the traditional Mexican food. This years club officers were all seniors: President-Dave Chamberlin, Vice-President-Bruce Lindgren, Secretary-Deanna Gilliland and Jeff Hudkins-Treasurer. Art Club members also took a field trip. They watched glass blowing at Hoppe's. There was a week long show at Tri-Federal with an Artist reception the following day. They sponsored a raffle with several nice prizes including a getto blaster and albums. The Art Club President was Jeff Hud-kins. Scholastic Club members had a total of 34. A member must have maintained a 3.5 average for the second semester of last year and the first semester of this year to be eligible. 8
