New Prom Site for “Universe” Theme The 1978 Jr.-Sr. Prom was held at Starlite Ballroom, moved from the traditional setting of the school gym. Another change made concerned the prom servers. This year they attended the dance as servers. The banquet was held at the Presbyterian Church basement. The meal was prepared by the Church Mariners. Class presidents Kim Peschel and Steve Buchanan gave short speeches followed by Supt. Willard Hunzeker. The prom servers entertained everyone with a short skit. Having prom at Starlite added to the theme, “The Edge of the Universe.” Decorations included numerous androids, a flashing tunnel, land rover and a silver spaceship. Finishing touches such as “blue” punch and “space trees” added to the mood. The ’78 Prom King and Queen were Mark Brodhal and Kim Barry. First attendants were LeAnn Torrens and Gregg Graff. The royalty danced to the music of “Atlantis.” 21
