“Our Town” Begins Theatrical Year The pantomime “Our Town” by Thorton Wilder began Wahoo High’s 1977-78 drama year. The setting took place in Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, a small town that could be associated with any small town. The story centers around two neighboring families and their changing lives. It starts at a happy home with the usual conflicts, happiness of marriage and finally, the sorrow of death. The play consisted of one of the largest number of cast and crew members since it was performed in 1966. Many people commented that the play was very good and they would like to see more plays put on. I. Mitch Laudenhack, Tod Lindholm, and Jeanine Lindquist practice a scene from the play. 2. Mrs. Hudson and Nancy Johnson help Jay Rohman get ready for first night performance. 3. Greg Graff gets into costume. 4. Mitch Laudenhack portrays Howie the milkman. 5. Wahoo Orators Prove Excellent Although the Speech Team had little experience, they brought back one fair, two goods, and four excellents from conference. The ones who get credit for the excellents were Eric Dillow and Solveig Hansen for duet acting and Jay Rohman, Rene Welton, and Jeanine Lindquist for their speeches. At district the team received one good and six excellents, Again it was Eric Dillow and Solveig Hansen with duet acting and Annette Borreson, Jay Rohman, Mark Smith, Jeanine Lindquist, and Eric Dillow for their speeches. Jeanine Lindquist, Eric Dillow, and Mark Smith were three points from a trip to state. The One Act play actors got an excellent at both conference and district with “the Ugly Duckling.” 1.
