Every night something to make or someplace to go in order to get ready for the 1974 Homecoming festivities. All this work seemed worthwhile in order to make this year’s Homecoming a success. The gym was brightly decorated to fit the theme “Warrior Fiesta.” The floors were also decorated with the Juniors winning first place for the colorfulness and creative depiction of a typical Mexican street. The traditional Homecoming parade proceeded downtown with a skit by the Juniors to fit the occasion. Although the dummy wasn’t burned because of the wind, spirit for the Homecoming game filled the air. After the game, the Fairfax Brothers entertained the students and their dates. At 11:00 Dale Akerson and Linda Torrens were crowned the 1974 Homecoming King and Queen. HOMECOMING 29

Cheerleaders Boost Warrior Spirit Wahoo High School cheerleaders were busy this year promoting spirit through the football, basketball, and wrestling seasons. Behind the spirit was plenty of hard work and planning. Under the direction of head cheerleaders Anne Graff, Mary Hansen, and Kim Bonow, the squads worked diligently to perform well at the activities and pep rallies. The cheerleaders helped to raise spirit by putting on special days such as sock day, hat day, and farmer day. Also, they started a new custom of occasionally feeding the wrestlers and basketball players breakfast on the days of meets and games to show their appreciation. 30 CHEERLEADERS
