GIRLS CHEER MULES Yell leaders deserve much credit for cheer- ing the team along and for keeping the school spirit high. For football season, Lyla Westbrook was cheerleader queen, and during the basketball season Peggy Madden was cheer queen. TUMBLEWEEDS TUMBLE During the fall of i957 a tumbling team was started at Wa-Ki-Hi with Mr. Bill Patter- son as advisor. This team consisted of Dar- lene Creamer, Betty DeBriae, Mary Lou Dodge, Karen Trimble, Evelyn Hanson. Shir- ley Hosley and Gloria McClure were coaches. These girls performed at several basketball games and some community functions. They did a good iob and hope to keep it up next year.

The Burros had a good won-lost record of 12-4 in the new Pacific County League. The team was made up mainly of freshmen and sophomores. The freshmen looked good and worked well together and should be a fast-break threat in a couple of years. Gilbert Vik, a sophomore, who also played a little varsity at the season's end, was awarded the scrub award.
