' 4 fm ' Sophomore Class History In the fall of '39, 37 frightened 'but cours- Q v geous Freshmen entered the doors of Wa-Ki-Hi to 5 face a new adventure in their lives. Q5 The upper classmen were surprisingly friendly . and before long the little Green Horns were feel- f Q5 ing quite at home and entered into all school ey 4 events. later in the year they put on a farewell up dance for the graduating Seniors that proved to be 59 i quite a success. - D Q te Of the 37 Freshmen to enter school, 35 became fl ' 1 Sophomores. Daring their Sophomore year, the class ,. y of '43 put on a Hill-Billy Dance. Such costumes as e7 f A L'il Abner and Daisy Mae were presented. ,A if In the spring, the class made it their project T9 ' .X . to go out and fix up the local Scout Camp. The 2 lg purpose of this project was to become an active and G outstanding class. R5 cg . :fy :if Freshman Class History .4 6' The fourth Annual Freshman Basket Social was 'i Q1 held November 29th. The program given by the iq 'F Freshman class, consisted of two comical skits. L 5 With the lunches coffee was served by several of the Freshman girls. is Among the outstanding activities of the Fresh- if, ' man class was a dance held in the City Hall on Feb- fli ruary 7th. Decorations followed the Valentinds ' 49 i Day theme with red hearts and streamers decorating is the hall. ff? i A The Annual Senior Farewell Dance was given May , p K 9th. The theme, Under the Sea , was carried out to ,X with the use of paper fish, balloons as bubbles, eb, ' 5 and serpentine as sea weed. Each Senior upon arri- g val was presented with a paper fish bearing his 'ETX ' name. At intermission punch was served.
