JM E1Vlbr5 S GH l0l2 I:Al2GW6ll We the senior class of '53 to show our appreciation for all that Wahama has done for us and for all the ' d on this page pleasures we have had during our four years as students have requested that the Alma Mater be printe since it expresses more adequately than any words of our own our true feelings for Wahama. Oh, come, let's sing Wahama's Praise, Our songs to Alma Mater raise, The school which stands upon the hill, And gives our hearts and minds a thrill, Though year by year the seasons go, Stunmer heat and winter snowg Our loyalty will never die, Nor love for thee, Wahama High . The happy days we've spent with thee, Will live again in memoryg And let us ever keep thy name, Where'er we go of spotless fame. If on troubled seas we sail, If all earth's friendships seem to fail, Thoughts of thee, as years go by, Will lead us home, Wahama High . Then here's to thee Wahama High , Thy loyal sons and daughters cryg The four years which we spent with you, And friends and teachers kind and true, Are like a rosary to wear, And count each bead and earnest prayer, That loyalty will never die, For love for thee, Wahama High , Vx 7 I1 , li, ig! Y Maas Bprnipiharin I wonder what the senior class of Wahama High School would be doing if they were to be put int0 the future. 1et's try it and see what happens. It is now the year 2053 and we find ourselves standing on a rocket runway, Who is that over there talking to the fellow with the space cadet uniform on, it's IOANN WOODRUFF talking to PAUL WASHINGTON Captain of the space cadets. l think we should go downtown to see what is going on. Did you see who that was that just went by, thatwas WARREN EUGENE WEAVER and his wife SHIRLEY WEAVER in their new hopped up rocketmobile called the atomizer , I believe I have seen that girl before, oh yes, I know now, that was LEORA YOUNG, queen of signboards, personally putting up an advertisement, And did you see what it said, it stated that Doc RAY WARD was spec- ializing in false teeth for children three years of age and under, You notice that the sidewalks are made out of sponge rubber, this type was invented by JACK SCITES for people that like to walk in their bare feet, Look who is coming down the sidewalk with two rayguns hanging at his sides, its the ruthless outlaw JACK STEWART and waikmg behind him are his wo body guards WLLFORD SCARBERRY and ARNOLD RoUsH, That girl directing traffic at the intersection is MABEL STEVENS, captain of the womens police forceg it is said she has one of the toughest police forces in the country, Some of her helpers are: OPAL JUNE ROUSH, SUSANNA ROUSH, PAY SHIRLEY, GARNET SHIRLEY, and FRANCES SPROUSE. Standing on the corner is one of the governments most valuable employees, ELAINE SAYRE, On foggy nights sne sings so lost aircraft can be guided to safety, The large building on your left is owned by PAUL ROUSH and CAROL ANN ROUSH, lt is a combination sporting goods store and dress shop. Well, well, here comes JOHN POWELL and PATTY ROUSH the dog kennel tycoons, Iohn says he was in it for the money and Patty said she just likes to hear barking dogs, JOHN ROTTGEN owns the large jewelry store on the next block, he bought so many rings for his girl friends that he decided to go into business for himself. CAROL ROACH works for him, but just as a sideline. She is really a professional gambler at the 'Blue Duce , a gambling house owned by BEN ROUSH and SAMMY ROACH, lf we stay until tonight we can go to the opera house, owned by JOHN POLSLEY to see the greatest drama- tical achievement of the year written by FRANK PEYTON, The title of the opera is The DesertRat , a story of a rodent. Some of the principal actors in the opera are: DOROTHY OHLINGER, DONALD NEWELL, PHYLLIS MCDANIEL, DORIS LITTON, and MARGIE JOHNSON, BERNARD HUDSON sells tickets and GERALD JOHNSON sells popcorn, Today they are having the championship ping pong tourney. JOE HENRY is pitted against his most bitter rival, CHARLES HILL, who is known better in his profession as Spike , JACK HESSON an ex-professional football star had to drop out in the semi-finals when DONNA BUMGARNER moved the table and broke his hip, l-le told sportswriter GLEN HARRAH that next year he was going to stick strictly to tiddley winks, MARY LAWRENCE is now managing the only two man baseball team in the nation, DORWIN CLARK and GEORGE OLIVER, They won their four-hundred and thirty-first consecutive ball game yesterday and are predict- ed to go to the top, DONA BECKER and tors BUMGARNER own that factory on the hillwhich was constructed by LOIS CLARK. BETTY HOSCHAR, LOWELL GRIMM, and VERDA GILL are starring at that theatre tonight in a recently made nine-D-movie, They were selected for this picture because they were from Mason county. ELIZABETH CLICK now runs the largest dairy farm in the nation, She began working on the farm shortly after she was out of high school. The two fellows coming down the street are RICHARD ATHEY and TOM SCALLY, they are F,B, I. special agents, Last week they solved a case called the open tunbrella, The case was a mystery to them until they found out the only reason the umbrella was open was because it was raining, Is this the future of the senior class of 1953? Still seeking their first win, the ever imlroving Wahama eleven traveled to Paden City to find out that they could win also, Paden City, a team with a good record, went to a crushing defeat, Wahama won 20-6. With a taste of victory Wahama traveled to Point Pleasant to play one of the most bruising and unpredictable ball games ir1 history, After forty-eight minutes of back-breaking football Wahama came out on the short end of a 7-6 score. From this period of the season on the Falcons just cou1dn't be stopped, they polished Ravenswood off 13-7, run roughshod over Rutland 28-6, outplayed Hurricane 20-0 and tinished their season by clipping Chester 48-12, Waharna's season record was five wins, one tie and four losses, They came out on the good end of their season not just by winning, but being known and remembered as The team that never quit.
