Seldom, however, is one found who not only fills the requirements for both these positions, but also fills them with an immeasurable amount of dedication and efficiency. Such a man is Dr. Adolph J. Stern. Dr. Stern. a native of Nuremburg, Germany and a graduate of the Technical University of Munich joined the Wagner faculty as Professor of Chemistry in 1942. Eight years later he was appointed Chairman of the Chemistry Department. and in 1952. was made Dean of the College. He has received doctorates in organic chemistry and physical chemistry-bio-physics. Dr. Stern has been the author of technical articles, and was co-author of a 1940 Leipzig chemistry text. a man, Dean Stern has contributed much to Wagner life. He has been, in a large part, responsible for the success of the Wagner College Study Program in Bregenz, Austria. Few will ever forget Dr. Stern's reading of The Night Before Christmas at the annual Weilmachtsfest. We will never forget the unsellish, patient, dedicated manner of a man who is truly a friend to all of us. It is with thanks for his generous understanding, unfailing humor, and enduring patience that the Class of 1965 affectionately dedicates the Kallzfsta to Dean Adolph J. Stern. B . Fw . .kxxqu kc -ji ,.., V-Q LM Editor's Desk Upon entering Wagner College, I heard - somewhere - that this school offered chance for development in the four major factors of man's life: Academic, Social, Spiritual and Physical. Now, as a four-year veteran of Wagner College, I can look back on this statement and see that it was not just high-minded idealism or paid public relations talking. Well, maybe it was, but Wagner came through, anyway. I could describe Wagnerls fourfold contributions by setting up four headings and naming each, but either you know all of them already from experience or you can look it up in the catalogue. These are the facts of Wagner College. The essence, however, is captured by personal thoughts and fleeting glimpses. In this book is an assemblage of the best of well over 3,000 photos taken this year. It is our hope that these will serve as memory-refreshers to students and alums, and Wagner-thought-provokers to those whose lives may be touched by Wagner College someday. I'm glad that I am able to return something to a school which has given so much to me. X F'f .1 g' if usiv Builcling We-st CLIIHPUS 514.
