Ski Club The Wagner College Ski Club, which was organ- ized to promote interest and participation in the winter sport and, in so doing, to strengthen Wag- ner's traditional spirit of student fellowship, enjoyed its most active year. To inaugurate the season, several of the members worked as ski bums at Stowe, Vt., during the Christmas holidays. The vagabond existence was again taken up between the Fall and Spring semes- ters. At Stowe, the ski bums participated in infor- mal meets and gave a good account of themselves. Interest reached its peak during the Spring se- mester when many new members joined and received instruction while on week-end trips. The year's pro- gram included discussions, lectures, and films on winter sports, together with the weekly ski trips. Presidegit . .1 Ski Captain Secretary . - 4lif Yacht Club ln I949 the Wagner College Yacht Club was formed by a group of boating enthusiasts to promote interest in sailing and intercollegiate competition dealing with small craft. Starting with a few in- formal meets at neighboring colleges, the group has advanced markedly toward its first goal: member- ship in the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association. This May will see an official meet against Fordham, Columbia, Cooper Union, and Stevens. Prior to this, there will be several informal trian- gular meets at City Island. With the groundwork thus prepared, it is hoped that yachting will become a recognized sport at Wagner. lf the advancement remains as constant as it has been in the near-past, the future will bring the hopes to reality. . .
